1. Who is responsible
Nova operates Closet; Basir Muhammad is the owner and contact person, based in Illinois, USA. This policy describes data handled through Closet. Use Contact Closet or Privacy Requests for privacy questions.
2. Information you provide
We process your account email, authentication details, display name, optional location and style-profile information. Wardrobe records may include clothing names, categories, colors, brands, materials, sizes, purchase dates and prices, photos, favorites and wear history. We also store outfits, feedback, wishlist entries, calendar events, travel plans, style preferences, stylist conversations and messages you choose to save.
3. Service and usage information
We record active-use dates and a last-active time for product activity statistics. AI usage logs contain feature, status, model, timing, token counts and error codes, not images, prompts or wardrobe contents. Conversation records are separate and can contain messages and AI responses. Hosting and error reporting may process technical request, browser and device information needed to diagnose errors and protect the service.
4. Why we use information
We use data to authenticate accounts, organize wardrobes, synchronize supported changes, generate requested AI results, learn gradual style preferences, track allowances, manage subscriptions and promotions, respond to requests and prevent abuse. Where applicable, processing relies on providing the service, legitimate operational and security interests, legal obligations, or consent for optional uses.
5. Clothing photos: offline
Selected photos and pending edits may be stored in your browser’s IndexedDB while offline. They remain on that device until synchronization or removal. Unsynced photo blobs can survive sign-out so work is not lost. People with access to your device or browser profile may be able to access locally stored data; use a trusted device and clear site data before transferring it.
6. Clothing photos: online
When connected and signed in, uploads are stored in Closet’s private wardrobe storage in Lovable Cloud. Access is scoped to the account and photos are normally displayed using short-lived signed links. Original scan photos, scan progress, detected candidates and saved garment images may be stored. Cropping and analysis do not mean that images remain exclusively on-device.
7. Clothing photos: AI processing
Requested vision and photo-search features can send images or image representations, wardrobe attributes and relevant context through the Lovable AI Gateway to OpenAI or Google models. Stylist features send relevant wardrobe summaries, selected pieces and your request. Image embeddings are stored for similarity search. Closet does not operate a training pipeline using your photos; provider handling is subject to the provider’s applicable terms, and we do not promise a provider retention period we have not verified.
8. Providers and sharing
Lovable Cloud provides Closet’s backend, authentication and private storage; Lovable hosts the app and provides AI routing and operational error reporting. OpenAI and Google models support AI features. Stripe provides payment services, including managed payments. Open-Meteo provides weather data based on location used for weather requests. These services receive the information necessary for their function. We may also disclose data when legally required, to protect rights and safety, or during a lawful business transfer with appropriate safeguards.
9. Payment information
Stripe processes payment and billing details. Closet keeps provider customer/subscription identifiers, plan status, renewal dates and promotional entitlement records. Complete card numbers are not stored in Closet’s application database. Your payment provider’s privacy policy applies to its processing.
10. Analytics and advertising
Closet’s implemented product analytics use account activity dates, aggregate wardrobe/outfit counts and AI usage records. The application source does not include an advertising tracker or third-party marketing analytics integration. We do not sell wardrobe content or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Infrastructure may generate operational telemetry independently of the app’s product analytics.
11. Storage and security
Account data is stored in cloud database records protected by account-based access controls. Wardrobe photos are in private storage; designated administrators have controlled access to support and aggregate activity information. Local offline caches store copies on your device. Security measures reduce risk but cannot guarantee that every system or device will be secure.
12. Cookies and local storage
Authentication uses browser storage for the session. IndexedDB stores cached query data, photos and pending operations; a service worker may cache visited pages in the published app. Browser controls can clear or restrict storage but may sign you out or delete unsynced work. See the Cookie Policy for details.
13. Retention
Wardrobe and profile data remain while your account is active unless you delete them. Offline query caches are configured for up to 30 days, although actual removal depends on browser activity; photo caches can last until cleared. Pending uploads can remain until synced or discarded. Limited payment, support, security and legal records may be retained when needed for disputes, compliance or abuse prevention; we have not implemented a universal automatic deletion deadline for these records.
14. Account deletion
Settings → Account → Delete account provides a confirmation before deleting account records and stored wardrobe photos. Deletion is blocked while a paid subscription is recorded as renewing; cancel paid billing first because subscription cancellation is separate. Successful deletion clears local wardrobe caches and pending changes in that browser. External payment records and submitted support requests may remain for legal or operational reasons. Device-local data on other devices and provider backups may not disappear immediately. Clear site data on each device if you need to remove local copies.
15. Your privacy choices and rights
You can edit profile and clothing details, delete records, manage settings and submit an access, correction, deletion or other privacy request. We verify identity before disclosing or deleting personal information. Rights to access, portability, restriction, objection or withdrawal of consent depend on your location and applicable law. No automated export button is currently offered; use Privacy Requests for access or a copy of your data. You may complain to the relevant privacy authority.
16. California rights
Where California privacy laws apply, eligible residents may request information about collection and disclosure, access or deletion of personal information, and correction of inaccurate information, subject to legal exceptions. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not retaliate for exercising applicable rights. Authorized agents can contact us and may be asked for authority and identity verification.
17. Children
Closet is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect children’s data. If you believe a child has provided personal information, submit a Privacy request so we can investigate and remove it where appropriate.
18. International users
Nova is based in the United States. Cloud, payment and AI services may process data in the United States or other countries with different privacy laws. We will apply required safeguards where applicable; this statement is not a claim that all data stays in your country.
19. Policy changes and contact
Changes will be posted with an updated date, with additional notice where required. Contact Nova through Contact Closet, choosing Privacy, or submit through Privacy Requests. Requests are stored for administrator review, and replies use the email you provide. Do not send sensitive credentials.
